The last few months have been quite a mix for me. December was full of family time and time with Vivek, Jan was tough with my dad moving on to his heavenly aboard. While the sorrow of my Dad's loss is very real, the thought that he is in a better place is quite comforting. So many things pointed to the fact that Jesus had willed this for us at this time and even if there were not many things that we could see were pointing to this, I guess He still willed it for us in His goodness. Its been tough but, I can say with confidence that there has been grace and peace in abundance. Another consolation was also that I got a chance to meet him in December when I went down for my holidays. Unlike earlier holidays, this time I somehow spent more time at home with parents than go gallivanting in Pune. Little did I know what was in store..... Praise be to the Master Planner - Jesus!
Further, we return to Dubai from Pune and get the news that we are blessed with a baby! In all this I realize more and more that allowing Jesus to have His way is only benefiting me and my family. I'm experiencing the goodness of Jesus in a very real way even if things may not seem to good and "I'm lovin it"...
with love,
Allan

Dear Friends,
There has been really nothing much that has happened in my life since the last Canvas issue was published that I can contribute. However here are just a couple of points which I’d like to share with you.
During my vacation in Bombay , I was given this book on ‘Daily Reflections’ by my friend Vivek to help me meditate on the Word of God daily, an area in my life which I have neglected. Since my return, I have been using this book everyday and now I quite enjoy reading and putting down some thoughts. The gospel reading for the day also ‘speaks’ to me often in the moment I presently live.
A couple of weeks ago I attended a Life in the Spirit Seminar held in Jebel Ali church. Though I couldn’t attend the third day, I enjoyed the first two days. It was a very edifying experience.
Love, Eddie.

Hi Guys,
Its amazing how time flies by, I still have some lingering memories of a joyful, homely & holy Christmas. The highlight was that the whole family was together and a cherished Christmas gift was a letter from my sister! Really miss my Americano nephews, who have a joyful mix of accents… guess you can tell I really miss them!
Yes, but I did leave 2008 with deep sense of gratitude! We now entering the season of Lent, and with this sense of hope, I really like to give (up) more! I did realize that there were areas in my life I was controlling quite well; an unfortunate effect...was Jesus wasn’t allowed inside. So please do pray for me that I may stay humble and yet excited to tell others (without words) about this REAL person, Jesus!
I do hope this season of Lent is more real for us, it might be for some, with the current situation...but our Holy Father said this on the onset of the global recession...What is your house built on..?
Lets all WAIT for the Easter Resurrection!!!
Love,
Al
