For the input session we had Sr. Magdalen who spoke about the Sacrament of marriage. It was a very enlightening evening as Sr. shared the following:-
- Marriage is a vocation, where a couple becomes the channel through which the grace of the Trinity flows.
- By the allowing the grace of the Trinity to flow, every couple is called to give life and light to each other, to their children and to the society.
- Three important fundamentals of marriage are love, prayer and fidelity.
We then had Natasha who presented saint of the month. She disclosed the saint for June who is St. Germaine Cousin. The meeting ended by praying for the Papal intentions and offered prayers for the soul of Ivan’s Dad.
21st - The meeting began with Praise & Worship lead by Gustave. He invited the youth to believe that Jesus is present in our midst as He promised 'When two or three are gathered in my name, there I am'. He also encouraged those present to put all the cares at the feet of Jesus. It was wonderful time spent in prayer.
We than had Cheryl & Simona who spoke for Jesus about their recent Jesus experience. Cheryl - who was feeling uneasy one night, woke up only to realize that the main door of the house was open. Simona - shared about how she lost her airline tickets for world youth day, but she found it miraculously.
We then had Sr. Luciana with the input session on personal prayer and this is what she shared.
a) Prayer is a two way conversation where you speak and also listen.
b) Without prayer / relationship, one could be lead to isolation.
c) What is prayer - It is a search, a hunger, a thirst for God. Prayer also involves listening, we speak to Him in prayer & we listen to Him in the scriptures. prayer is the outpouring of one's heart & the heart of prayer is a desire for God.
d) How do we learn to pray?- It is only through prayer, we can learn to pray.
e) Jesus gave us many examples of prayer, a thanksgiving prayer at the multiplication of bread & fish, prayer at Lazarus' tomb, prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, prayer on the cross etc etc. We must imitate Jesus in prayer.
f) Take a scripture passage and put yourself as one of the characters & see if you listen and speak in those situations, this is one form of prayer.

28th - The meeting began with Sandra and Edwin preparing the youth for the evening inviting them to rise up and spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God and believe that Jesus mercy is there for us all. The evening then moved into the GMM members taking over leading the the teams in song and action. Hands up in the air, putting on their thinking hats to guess the song. And some reflection through the songs.
The sharings at speak for Jesus all focused on how the Lord used music to speak to them. The Lord was truly made present that evening through the music and each other. It was an evening of fellowship that left all there edified.
July
5th- The Praise and Worship was led by Caroline on this date. It was simple and beautifully conducted. We had the Scripture Sharing on the Lord's Prayer - a prayer we say everyday, yet it was through the Scripture Sharing that we were led deeper into the actual meaning of the prayer.
12th -
A video on a talk by Fr. John Corapi was featured at CAYG. It was based on his personal life which was more of a testimony.
19th - This day the Praise & Worship was led by Allan Menezes. The input session done by Nelson was on 'Understanding the will of God'. He told us that nothing happens to us by accident or 'luck' or 'by fluke' And rather than fight what is hapenning, we must trust God with our life and situations. And we must remember that God understands the human soul more than we can imagine.
26th -This Saturday saw a special evening at CAYG. It was jointly conducted by the Hospitality and the Media Ministries. There was short Praise and Worship led by Edwin followed by a fun and exciting evening which began with an ice-breaker with a concept of identifying people's best qualities. The other activity that kept CAYG busy that day was putting together pieces of jigsaw puzzle by four different groups which when brought together was the masterpiece of the World Youth Day logo, The WYD cross and the Icon of Our Lady. The theme was based on ‘We are one body’- Though we are many parts with different functions doing different things, we need each part to work together to one goal. And this evening it was the WYD image. Click here to see the images.
